Become a #Me
Contact #Me to become a facilitator
If you want to know more about the #Me Meetings you'd be leading as a facilitator, or you think you could benefit from our materials, why not take a look at our Resource Packs here
#Me is looking for friendly, trustworthy and proactive volunteers who have experience within mental health, whether this be personally, through assisting friends / family / colleagues or in a professional capacity, to co-facilitate small support groups. We provide training, frameworks, tools and support throughout. This is a highly rewarding and excellent opportunity to try something different, gain experience, be part of the community and help change someone’s life.
The #Me course runs for 12 weeks and groups meet for 1 hour on a weekly basis. Each support group has around 4-6 like minded attendees who will be in a similar stage of life with comparable challenges and interests. We have 2 voluntary facilitators per group so that the responsibility is shared and you can learn valuable skills such as working collaboratively, delegation, time management and leadership to name just a few.
What’s in it for you?
You will receive training beforehand and be supported throughout by #Me. It’s an eye-opening opportunity to help others, develop your personal, social and transferable skills, widen your experiences, enhance your CV and give back to the community. Not only is it a highly rewarding experience, you’ll also receive certification of your role at the end of the 12 week course and can use #Me as a reference. As a facilitator, you’ll receive all the resources and same opportunity to meet others. You will undergo an interactive training session before hand to ensure you are comfortable with the material, group scenarios and safeguarding aspects.
